01 — The Challenge
The Challenge
The customer's self-service kiosks stood in direct sunlight for much of the day, and in summer heat the displays repeatedly went black — the panel overheating under solar load until the image vanished entirely.
Each blackout left the kiosk effectively offline at the exact moment shoppers needed it, forcing staff to reset units on site and eroding operator confidence in high-temperature regions where interrupted self-service operation was costing real revenue.
02 — Our Solution
Our Solution
We custom-engineered a 15.6" industrial-grade high-TNI LCD monitor rated for -30°C to 80°C operating temperatures, delivering 1000 nits brightness and 1920×1080 resolution that stays clearly readable under direct sunlight.
The high-TNI panel, combined with a redesigned thermal management system — aluminium heatsink, airflow channels and a low-power backlight driver — prevents the image blackening that affected the customer's previous units and supports 24/7 continuous outdoor operation.
03 — The Result
The Result
The kiosk monitors now perform reliably under full outdoor sunlight, eliminating display blackout incidents across the entire deployed fleet.
With self-service points no longer going dark, operator confidence returned, and the uninterrupted operation has helped the customer grow revenue while cutting on-site service visits.
